From May 7 to 8, Prof. Haixu Wang from Nanjing University and Prof. Qiucheng Chen from Shenzhen University of Advanced Technology visited the laboratory of Dr. Weixuan Nie at Westlake University and delivered seminars on frontier topics in electrocatalysis and electrochemical synthesis.
Prof. Wang introduced his latest research on hydrogen reduction reactions (HRR), highlighting new strategies for hydrogen-mediated catalytic transformations. Prof. Chen shared recent advances in electrochemical carbon–carbon bond formation and interfacial electrosynthesis, with a particular focus on electrochemical carbon reduction reactions (e-CORR) and electrochemical cross-electrophile coupling (e-XEC) reactions.

The seminars attracted strong interest from faculty members, researchers, and students from related disciplines. Extensive discussions were carried out on reaction mechanisms, catalyst design, and future opportunities in sustainable energy and electrochemical synthesis.
The visit further strengthened academic connections between Westlake University and leading researchers in the field, laying the groundwork for future collaborations and scientific exchange.
