From April 11 to 14, 2026, the 35th National Congress of the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS) was successfully held in Chongqing, China. As one of the largest and most influential academic events in the field of chemistry and related disciplines in China, the congress brought together researchers from universities, research institutes, and industry to exchange ideas on cutting-edge developments and interdisciplinary topics.

The research group led by Prof. Weixuan Nie from Westlake University actively participated in the congress. During the meeting, Prof. Nie delivered an oral presentation entitled “Highly Efficient Heterogeneous Electrocatalytic CO₂ Reduction Enabled by Dispersed Pyridine Diimine Cobalt Molecular Catalysts,” highlighting the group’s recent research progress in this area. The presentation attracted considerable interest and stimulated in-depth discussions among attending scholars. In addition, Prof. Nie served as a session chair, facilitating academic exchanges and contributing to the smooth organization of the symposium.

Members of the research group also engaged in academic discussions through oral presentations and poster sessions, exchanging ideas with peers on recent advances and emerging challenges. By attending plenary lectures and parallel sessions, the group gained valuable insights into current trends and future directions in chemical research, which will help guide their future work.
Following the conference, the group explored the city of Chongqing, experiencing its unique urban landscape and local culture. They visited several iconic sites and enjoyed regional cuisine, gaining a deeper appreciation of the city’s distinctive character. These activities not only enriched the conference experience but also strengthened the cohesion within the research team.
