Hanjiang District Government of Yangzhou Visits Westlake University for Collaborative Discussions with Dr. Weixuan Nie’s Laboratory

On April 28, a delegation from Hanjiang District Government of Yangzhou visited the CAEST Center at Westlake University and toured the laboratory of Dr. Weixuan Nie for academic and collaborative exchange. The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions on topics including green technology, energy and environmental research, talent recruitment, and university–government collaboration.

During the meeting, Professor Ling Li, Director of the CAEST Center, introduced the research focus, faculty, and development of the School of Engineering and the CAEST Center at Westlake University. Mr. Ligang Yu, Deputy District Mayor of Hanjiang District, presented the district’s industrial development and talent policies, and expressed strong interest in strengthening collaboration in scientific innovation, technology transfer, and talent exchange.

The discussions further explored potential cooperation in green energy and environmental research, international talent recruitment, the Science and Technology Deputy Program, and student outreach initiatives. Following the meeting, the delegation visited Dr. Nie’s laboratory and the Westlake University campus to learn more about the laboratory’s research platforms and recent progress.

The visit strengthened the connection between Westlake University and Hanjiang District, laying a solid foundation for future collaboration in scientific research, talent cultivation, and industry–university–research partnerships.
