On December 8, 2025, the Weixuan Nie Laboratory was honored to invite Dr. Xia Xinghua, Professor at the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Nanjing University and Academic Leader of the National Key Laboratory of Life Analytical Chemistry, to visit Westlake University. He delivered an outstanding academic lecture titled "Plasmon-Enhanced Infrared Spectroelectrochemistry." Professor Xia provided a clear and insightful explanation of how to leverage localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) properties to construct high-performance spectroelectrochemical platforms, overcoming the limitations of traditional infrared spectroscopy in sensitivity and spatial resolution. This enables highly sensitive and high-resolution monitoring of molecular interfacial processes and reaction mechanisms. He also shared his team's recent innovative achievements, including the development of plasmon-based surface-enhanced infrared spectroscopy platforms, advancements in nanoscale infrared imaging technology, and exploration of mechanisms involving thermal charge participation in electrochemical reactions.
