Recently, the review paper Heterogenous Electrocatalytic CO₂ Reduction by Supported Molecular Catalysts Well Dispersed on Electrode Surface, which was invited to be written by the research group, was officially accepted for publication in the journal ChemElectroChem (Mark and Zhang Shiyu are co-first authors).

This review systematically summarizes the latest progress and achievements of highly dispersed supported molecular catalysts, that is, molecular catalysts dispersed on the surface of electrodes or carriers at the single molecule level, in the field of electrocatalytic CO2 reduction (CO2R) in recent years. The paper discusses and summarizes in depth and detail the regulation and influence of the degree of single molecule dispersion, molecular electronic structure modification, and catalyst molecule/substrate material interaction on the electronic energy level structure, multi-electron transfer kinetics, catalytic activity, and deep (>2e−) reduction of CO2 catalytic ability of highly dispersed supported molecular catalytic materials. In addition, the paper also summarizes and discusses the potential applications of such molecular catalytic systems in photoelectrocatalytic CO2 reduction reactions and catalytic microenvironment regulation, providing new ideas for the design of efficient and energy-saving catalysts in the future.

Congratulations to Mark and Shiyu!
